How to Create a Demo Account

Try our Demo Link My Books account to explore how it works before connecting your own sales channel and bookkeeping software.

On the Sign Up page select Create a demo account:

Then choose a region for your demo account:

Once a region is chosen (The United kingdom was selected for this demo) a demo account will a generated:

Once configuration is complete, select Continue:

Next, you’ll be taken to the Accounts & Taxes Setup Wizard page, where you’ll be prompted to confirm your business details. If you're based in the UK, you’ll need to specify whether your business is VAT registered or not:

You'll then choose between using the Default Chart of Accounts or a Custom Chart of Accounts:

Next (if you're in the UK), you'll select the appropriate VAT grouping for your demo account:

Once you're happy with all the tax rates, click Confirm to continue:

There's a small info icon next to the category name.  **Fees &amp; Other Transactions**: * **Transaction Category: Fees**: Tax Rate "20% (VAT on Expenses)". There's a small info icon next to the category name. * **Transaction Category: Split Month Rollovers**: Tax Rate "No VAT". There's a small info icon next to the category name. * **Transaction Category: Loans**: Tax Rate "No VAT". There's a small info icon next to the category name. * **Transaction Category: Sales Tax**: Tax Rate "No VAT". There's a small info icon next to the category name. * **Transaction Category: Inventory Reimbursements**: Tax Rate "20% (VAT on Income)". There's a small info icon next to the category name. Each tax rate field has a dropdown arrow on the right, indicating it can be changed.  Below these lists, there's a checkbox labeled "I've confirmed these tax rates with my accountant and take full responsibility for being accurate". This checkbox is currently checked.  At the bottom of the main content area, there's a text link "HAVING TROUBLE? WATCH VIDEO GUIDE". To the right, there are two buttons: a grey "PREVIOUS" button and a blue "CONFIRM" button. Saving the account may take up to 90 seconds:
