PayPal payment gateway not showing or reconciling? Check it's toggled on

If PayPal transactions are missing or not reconciling, the PayPal payment gateway may not be toggled on in your Link My Books settings.

PayPal transactions missing or not reconciling?

If you sell via Shopify and accept PayPal payments but your PayPal transactions are not appearing in your settlements or not reconciling correctly, the most common cause is that the PayPal payment gateway is not toggled on in your Link My Books settings.

How to check and enable the PayPal payment gateway

  1. Log into Link My Books and go to Settings

  2. Navigate to Payment Gateways

  3. Look for PayPal in the list of available gateways

  4. Make sure the toggle is switched on

  5. Save your settings

Once the PayPal gateway is toggled on, Link My Books will start including PayPal transactions in your settlements going forward.

What happens when PayPal is toggled off?

When the PayPal payment gateway is not enabled, Link My Books will not capture or reconcile any sales paid via PayPal. This means those transactions will be missing from your settlements and your accounting software, which can cause discrepancies when you try to reconcile.

Multi-currency PayPal payments

If you accept PayPal payments in multiple currencies, make sure the PayPal gateway is toggled on for each relevant sales channel connection. Each connection handles its own payment gateway settings independently.

Still not reconciling after toggling on?

If you have toggled on the PayPal gateway but transactions are still not reconciling, please contact our support team by replying to this message or emailing [email protected]. We can check your account settings and help resolve the issue.
