Multi‑entity support for Shopify markets settlements

Feature Overview

If you use Shopify Markets to sell in multiple regions, you can now send each market’s settlements to its own accounting file in Link My Books.

This means you can:

  • Connect separate Xero or QuickBooks organisations for each business entity/market

  • Keep your UK, EU, US (or any other) accounts cleanly separated

  • Avoid manual workarounds to split settlements by region

How It Works

1. Connect a separate accounting file per entity/market

You can now assign a different Xero or QuickBooks connection to each business entity or market you sell in.

Typical examples:

  • UK sales → Xero/QuickBooks for your UK company

  • EU sales → Xero/QuickBooks for your EU company

  • US sales → Xero/QuickBooks for your US company

Each entity has its own accounting connection, so settlements from that market are kept separate.

Note: The exact steps to link each entity to an accounting file depend on your account setup. Once configured, routing happens automatically.

2. Filter and manage batches by business entity

On the Settlements/Batches page, you can filter what you see by business entity/market.

This lets you:

  • Review settlements for one entity at a time

  • Post only the batches that belong to a specific company

  • Quickly switch between entities without exporting or manually splitting data

Example workflow:

  1. Filter to “UK” → review and post those settlements

  2. Switch filter to “EU” → review and post those settlements

  3. Repeat for any other entities you have set up

3. Automatic routing to the correct accounting file

Once your entities/markets are linked:

  • Link My Books detects which market a settlement belongs to

  • The settlement is automatically routed and posted to the correct Xero or QuickBooks organisation

  • You don’t need to manually move, split, or reassign settlements between accounting files

This keeps your accounts aligned with how your business is structured across regions.

Customer Impact

With this update:

  • No more workarounds for multi‑country selling
Merchants using Shopify Markets don’t need to manually split settlements or maintain complex spreadsheets.

  • Correct accounting file for each market
Each market’s financials are posted to the right Xero or QuickBooks organisation, matching your legal entities.

  • Cleaner separation of regional data
UK, EU, US (and other) results are clearly separated, making reporting and compliance easier.

  • Better support for complex multi‑entity structures
Groups with multiple companies or regions can keep everything organised without extra manual steps.
