Link My Books uses clearing accounts when you use other payment gateways via Shopify. To learn more about Shopify Payment Gateways read this help article.

By default Link My Books will generate and assign a new account in your Chart of Accounts for each payment gateway. For most users this is the best option.

If however you have migrated from another integration software and you have an existing chart of accounts containing clearing accounts you can use this help document to custom map your gateway clearing accounts.

How to set custom gateway clearing accounts

Select Custom clearing accounts on the Settlement Settings > Shopify Payment Gateways page:

Screenshot of the “Settlement Settings” page in Link My Books, specifically under the “Shopify Payment Gateways” tab. A section titled “Payment Gateway Clearing Account Mapping” is visible, with the “Custom clearing accounts” option selected (highlighted with a red box). Several dropdown menus are displayed for mapping different payment gateways like Afterpay, PayPal, and Klarna to specific clearing accounts. The “Monthly” report frequency is selected by default at the bottom, with a blue “Save Settings” button below. Let me know if you’d like a version tailored for documentation or accessibility!

Select the accounts you wish to use for each gateway:

Below it, several dropdown fields are shown with selected clearing accounts: Afterpay mapped to “LMB39a: Shopify Gateway Clearing (Afterpay),” PayPal mapped to “LMB39b: Shopify Gateway Clearing (PayPal),” and Klarna mapped to “LMB39c: Shopify Gateway Clearing (Klarna).” These mappings are repeated multiple times for different entries. Let me know if you’d like a more concise or screen-reader-optimized version!
