Renewing your Walmart connection in Link My Books

Walmart has updated how apps connect to seller accounts.

To keep your Walmart data syncing into Link My Books, you’ll need to renew your Walmart connection.

There is no data loss during this process. Your existing Walmart settlements and settings stay exactly as they are.

What you need to do

  • All Walmart sellers must renew their Walmart connection.

  • You’ll see an in‑app pop‑up and may receive an email with a Renew Connection button.

  • Only the main Walmart account login can approve the connection.

In‑App Pop‑Up: What You’ll See

You’ll see a pop‑up on your Link My Books dashboard if any Walmart account still needs to be renewed.

  • The pop‑up only shows while at least one Walmart account needs updating.

  • You can dismiss it, but it will reappear after 24 hours until everything is renewed.

What you see next depends on your setup:

  • Seller with one Walmart account

  • Seller with multiple Walmart accounts

  • Accountant managing client Walmart accounts

Sellers – One Walmart Account

  1. You’ll see a message like:
“ACTION REQUIRED – Renew your {accountName} Walmart account connection”

  2. Click Renew Connection.

  3. You’ll be redirected to Walmart’s sign‑in page.

  4. Log in with your main Walmart Seller account credentials.

  5. Approve the connection.

  6. You’ll be taken back to Link My Books, and your Walmart account will be updated.

Once this is done, the pop‑up disappears for that account.

Sellers – Multiple Walmart Accounts

  1. You’ll see a message like:
“ACTION REQUIRED – Renew your Walmart account connections”

  2. Click Review Connections.

  3. You’ll see a list of all your Walmart accounts with a status for each (e.g. Needs renewal / Completed).

  4. For each account that needs renewal:

    • Start the renew flow from this page.

    • Log in with your main Walmart Seller account credentials when redirected to Walmart.

    • Approve the connection and return to Link My Books.

You’ll keep seeing the dashboard pop‑up until all Walmart accounts have been renewed.

Accountants – Managing Client Walmart Accounts

You'll see a message like:

“ACTION REQUIRED – Renew your client Walmart account connections”

  1. Click Review Connections.

  2. You’ll see:

    • A list of client Walmart accounts

    • Status for each (renewed / not renewed)

  3. For each client that still needs to act, you can:

    • Copy a magic link to send to them directly, or

    • Click Send Reminder so we email them for you.

When a client uses their link:

  • The correct account is selected in Link My Books.

  • They are redirected to Walmart to sign in with their main account credentials and approve the connection.

Your clients are also notified directly by email, and their status will update once they’ve completed the steps.

Emails You or Your Clients May Receive

We also send emails to make sure no one misses this:

  • Subject:
ACTION REQUIRED - Renew your {accountName} Walmart account connection

  • What the email does:

    • Explains that Walmart changed how we connect.

    • Includes a Renew Connection button.

When you (or your client) click Renew Connection:

  1. We ensure the correct Walmart account is selected.

  2. You’re redirected to Walmart’s sign‑in page.

  3. Log in with the main Walmart Seller account and approve the connection.
