Self-service historical data purchase on settlement dashboard

See older settlements beyond your current plan

What this feature does

By default, your plan includes a certain amount of historical settlement data (for example 3, 12, 18, or 24 months).

If you need to go further back than your plan allows, you can now buy extra historical data directly from the Settlements page. This is a simple, self-service flow that:

  • Shows you how far back your current history goes

  • Lets you choose if you want to go further back

  • Offers 12‑month and 24‑month add‑on bundles

  • Uses the card you already have on file

  • Automatically unlocks and imports the extra settlements for you

You no longer need to contact Support to get additional historical data.

📌 You choose your own start date — you don't have to use the full bundle.

When you buy a 12-month or 24-month bundle, you're unlocking the ability to go back up to that many months. You can set your start date to go back just 4, 6, or 9 months — whatever you need. The bundle simply sets the maximum range available to you.

Who can use this

You can use this feature if:

  • You have an active Link My Books subscription, and

  • You have a card saved on file for billing.

If you do not have an active subscription, you'll be asked to subscribe first before you can buy extra history.

How it works – step by step

1. Open the import older data window

  • On the Settlements page, scroll to the very bottom.

  • Click the option to import older data.

  • A window opens showing:

    • The earliest date that is currently included in your plan.

2. Choose how far back you need to go

  • Use the date picker in the window.

  • Select the date you want your settlements to start from.

    • If you pick a date within your current plan allowance, no purchase is needed.

    • If you pick a date that goes further back than your plan allows, you'll see purchase options.

3. See your purchase options

If your requested date is earlier than your plan includes, you will see:

  • A choice of add‑on bundles:

    • 12‑month add‑on

    • 24‑month add‑on

  • A clear price for each bundle in your account currency.

  • Any taxes (for example VAT) included in the final price.

You can choose the bundle that suits how far back you need to go.

4. Confirm and pay

  • Review the bundle and price details.

  • Click Confirm & Purchase.

  • The payment is taken from the card already saved on your Link My Books account.

There is no need to enter your card details again.

5. Your extra data is unlocked and imported

After a successful purchase:

  • Your historical data allowance is extended to match the add‑on you chose (for example, an extra 12 or 24 months).

  • Link My Books automatically starts pulling the historical settlements within the new range.

This import may take some time, especially if there is a lot of data. You will see the new settlements appear on the Settlements page as they are imported.

You will also receive a confirmation/receipt for your purchase.

What to expect

  • No need to contact Support
You can unlock extra history yourself in a few clicks.

  • Transparent pricing
Prices and any taxes are shown clearly before you confirm.

  • Use your existing card
The card you already use for your subscription is charged automatically.

  • Automatic import
Once purchased, older settlements are pulled in automatically; you don't have to upload anything manually.

  • Some processing time
It's normal for the import to take up to a few hours depending on how much data is being pulled.

Why did my purchase fail?

If you see the message "Purchase failed. Please try again or contact support." when trying to buy a 12 or 24-month bundle, the cause is almost always tied to your subscription or payment method. Check the following in order:

  1. You're still on a free trial. Historical data bundles can only be purchased on an active paid subscription. If you're on a trial, subscribe to a paid plan first via Account → Billing → Plans, then return to the Settlements page to buy the bundle.

  2. You don't have a card saved on file. The bundle uses the same card that's saved for your subscription. If no card is on file, the purchase can't go through. Add or update your card via Account → Billing → Billing & Subscription → Payment Method → Change.

  3. Your card was declined. This can happen if the card has expired, has insufficient funds, has been blocked for online payments, or your bank flagged the transaction. Check with your bank, then update the card on file using the steps above and try again.

  4. Your most recent subscription invoice has failed. If Stripe is currently retrying a failed subscription payment, the bundle purchase will be blocked until the outstanding invoice is paid. Go to Billing & Subscription and pay any outstanding invoice via the link in your most recent Stripe email, then retry the bundle purchase.

💡 Tip: Only the account owner can view and update billing details. If you're an additional user, ask the account owner to check the subscription status and card on file.

If you've checked all four of the above and the purchase is still failing, please contact our support team via the blue chat icon at the bottom right of the page and include a screenshot of the error message along with the date range you're trying to purchase. We'll investigate from our side and help you complete the purchase.

FAQs

Do I have to change my plan to get more historical data?

No. This is a one‑off add‑on purchase. It extends how far back your settlement history goes without changing your existing plan.

I clicked "Request earlier data" but I don't see any purchase options. Why?

A few reasons this can happen:

  • The date you picked is still within your current plan's allowance, so no extra purchase is needed.

  • You may not have an active subscription. If so, you'll be asked to update your subscription on the billing page before you can buy extra history.

If you're still unsure, you can contact Support and mention which date you're trying to reach.

I only need a few months of data — why do I have to buy a 12 or 24-month bundle?

We understand this can feel frustrating if you only need, say, 6 months of extra history. Here's why the bundles work this way:

  • The bundles unlock your maximum reach — you're not paying for a fixed number of months. You choose your own start date when you set up the import, so you can go back just 4 months, 6 months, or the full 12 (or 24).

  • Offering standardised bundles allows us to keep the prices as low as possible. A 12-month bundle is a one-off payment (from £49/$65 USD/$99 AUD) — there's no ongoing cost, and it gives you flexibility to import as much or as little as you need within that range.

  • If your plan already includes 12 months of history (e.g. the Plus plan), the app will only show you the 24-month bundle because you already have the 12-month range covered.

💡 Tip: If the pricing doesn't work for your situation, please reach out to our support team. We're always happy to discuss your specific needs and find the best solution.

I've paid for extra history, but I don't see my older settlements yet. Is something wrong?

Probably not. After you purchase an add‑on:

  1. Your historical allowance is updated.

  2. Link My Books starts importing your older settlements in the background.

This can take up to a few hours depending on how much data there is. If, after a reasonable time, you still don't see the older settlements:

  • Refresh the Settlements page.

  • If the data is still missing, contact Support and mention that you've already purchased extra historical data.

I don't have an active subscription. Can I still buy extra history?

No. You need an active subscription and a valid card on file to purchase additional historical data.

If your subscription is inactive:

  1. Go to your billing page in Link My Books and update your subscription.

  2. Once your subscription is active again, return to the Settlements page and use import older data option to buy the extra history you need.
