💡 Quick summary

An ownership transfer moves the billing responsibility and account control from one user to another. It is carried out by our support team and requires written confirmation from both the current owner and the new owner.

When would I need an ownership transfer?

Common scenarios include:

  • You are an accountant or bookkeeper taking over management of a client’s Link My Books account

  • A business is changing hands and the new owner needs to take over the existing Link My Books setup and data

  • A team member who originally set up the account has left the company and you need to move billing and access to a different person

  • You want to move your account to a different email address (e.g. from a personal email to a business email)

Requesting Migration

To process the transfer as quickly as possible, please make sure the following are in place:

1. The new owner must have a Link My Books account

The person receiving the account needs to have an existing Link My Books user account. If they don’t have one yet, they can create one for free by visiting our homepage and selecting Log In - then sign in with Google, Xero, or Intuit (QuickBooks). They do not need to connect a channel or subscribe to a paid plan, just simply login.

2. Both parties must provide written confirmation

For security, we require written approval from both the current owner and the new owner. Both parties should confirm the transfer via email to [email protected] or via the blue message widget at the bottom right of any Link My Books webpage. Each message should include:

  • The name of the Link My Books account(s) being transferred (as they appear in Link My Books)

  • The email address of the current owner

  • The email address of the new owner

  • A clear statement authorising the transfer

⚠️ We cannot process a transfer without confirmation from both parties. If the current owner is unavailable (for example, they have left the company), please contact our support team to discuss alternative verification options.

Once we receive confirmation from both parties, the support team will action this request for you and guide you through any updates needed to billing etc.

If you have any questions about this article or feedback on how we could make it better please reach out to the support team via the blue chat icon on the bottom right of the page or via email to [email protected].
