How to Enable the MCF Fee Split Add-on

Split the Amazon MCF per-unit fulfilment fee onto its own line and map it to a dedicated account in Xero or QuickBooks. Paid add-on, enabled by the account owner in Settlement Settings.

Written by Daniel Little

The MCF Fee Split add-on separates the Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) per-unit fulfilment fee from your other Amazon FBA fees and reports it on its own line, Amazon FBA Fees - MCF Per-Unit Fulfilment Fee, which you can map to a dedicated account in Xero or QuickBooks. Everything else in your Amazon breakdown stays as it is.

šŸ’” Not sure whether you need this? Read Why Your Amazon MCF Fees Deserve Their Own Account for what the fee is, why bundling it into FBA fees distorts your channel margins, and when the split is worth it.

Cost

This is a paid add-on, charged monthly on top of your plan:

  • Ā£15 / month (GBP)

  • $20 / month (USD)

  • A$30 / month (AUD)

You see the price on a confirmation screen before anything is charged. If you turn the add-on off, the charge is removed and you are credited for the unused part of the month. If you pay annually, the add-on runs as a separate monthly subscription alongside your annual plan.

How to enable it

āš ļø Only the account owner can enable or disable this add-on, because it adds a charge to the subscription. You also need an active paid subscription; it cannot be enabled on a trial.

  1. Go to Settings > Settlement Settings > Transaction Grouping.

  2. Find Split MCF Fulfilment Fee and switch on Enable Split MCF Fulfilment Fee.

  3. Confirm the price on the screen that appears. The add-on is added to your subscription automatically.

  4. Click Save Settings.

The toggle appears on Amazon accounts only.

Map the new line to its own account

Once enabled, go to Accounts & Taxes > Account & Tax Mappings, find MCF Per-Unit Fulfilment Fee under Amazon FBA Fees and choose the account you want it to post to, exactly as you would any other fee line.

Until you set this mapping, the new line keeps posting to whichever account your Amazon FBA Fees currently use. Nothing breaks, but you will not see the split in your accounts until the mapping is set. Admin, Accountant and Owner roles can all change mappings; a Basic User cannot (see user roles).

Things to know

  • Settlements already sent are not changed. Only settlements not yet sent to Xero or QuickBooks pick up the new line. To apply the split to settlements you have already posted, roll them back and re-send them using the Rollback Feature.

  • This only splits the MCF fee. To separate sales, refunds, tax and all fees by FBA, FBM and MCF, use Fulfilment Type Grouping instead.

  • Check your COGS setup. If you post COGS from both Link My Books and your other channel, make sure MCF orders are not counted twice — see How to use the Cost of Goods Sold feature.
