What this error means
The error “Missing COGs Values” appears when Link My Books tries to post a settlement but a Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) account has not been mapped.
COGS represents the direct costs associated with selling products. When Link My Books calculates product costs for settlements, it needs a COGS account in your accounting software to record those values.
If a COGS account is required but not configured, the posting will fail.
Why this happens
Common reasons include:
A COGS account has not been mapped in Link My Books
The COGS mapping was removed or changed after the initial setup
Your settlement includes cost calculations that require a COGS account
This configuration must be completed in Link My Books, using an account from your chart of accounts in Xero or QuickBooks.
How to resolve it
You will need to map a valid Cost of Goods Sold account in Link My Books.
Log in to Link My Books
Go to your accounting mappings or settings
Locate the COGS mapping section
Select the appropriate Cost of Goods Sold account from your accounting software
Save the changes
Retry posting the settlement
If you are unsure which account to use, consult your accountant or review your chart of accounts.
When to contact support
Contact Link My Books support if:
A COGS account is already mapped but the error still appears
You are unsure which account should be used for COGS
The settlement continues to fail after updating the mapping
