If one or more of your Amazon settlements are showing a "Needs User Action" status on your Settlements Dashboard, don't worry — this is expected behaviour and easy to fix. It just means you need to ask Amazon to generate the report before Link My Books can import it.
What does "Needs User Action" look like?
On your Settlements page, affected settlements will show an orange "Needs User Action" badge in the Settlement Status column. You can use the Settlement Status filter to show only these settlements.
When you click the Needs User Action error message on one of these settlements, a modal will appear explaining what you need to do and guiding you through the process step by step.
Why am I seeing this status?
Amazon archives the detailed settlement report data (known as a "Flat File V2") after approximately 90 days. Once archived, the report is no longer available via Amazon's API, which means Link My Books can't automatically import it.
However, the payout itself still happened — so Link My Books shows the settlement in your list with a "Needs User Action" status, along with the payout amount, currency, date range, and marketplace. This gives you a complete view of all your Amazon payouts, even when the detailed breakdown isn't available yet.
To unlock the full settlement data, you just need to request the report from Amazon. Only the account holder can do this — it takes about 2 minutes.
How to request the report from Amazon
Log in to your Amazon Seller Central account and navigate to:
Reports > Payments > All Statements
On the All Statements tab you will see a list of all your past settlements. Older settlements will show a Request Report button — click it to ask Amazon to generate a Flat File V2 report for that settlement period.
Once Amazon has processed the request, the button will change to Download Flat File V2.
What happens next?
💡 Good to know
Once the Download Flat File V2 button appears in Amazon Seller Central, the settlement should drop into Link My Books automatically within 48 hours. You do not need to download the file or send it to support — the system picks it up on its own.
The settlement status will update from "Needs User Action" to its normal status (e.g. "Ready to Send") once the data has been imported.
Still not showing after 48 hours?
If the settlement hasn't appeared in Link My Books after 48 hours, please contact our support team.
⚠️ To avoid delays, include BOTH of the following in your first message to support:
A screenshot of the All Statements page in Amazon showing the Download Flat File V2 button is available for the affected settlement(s)
The actual .txt Flat File V2 downloaded from that button (click "Download Flat File V2" and attach the file)
Sending both upfront means our team can investigate and manually import the settlement straight away, rather than needing to ask for the file separately.
