Important: Please do not disconnect your existing accounting package (QuickBooks or Xero) yourself before completing the steps below. The purge step in step 4 must be completed and confirmed by our support team before you make any changes from your end. Disconnecting too early can leave your account in a state where the new accounting package cannot be connected.
Please note: Do not use the Settings > Account Settings > Reconnect Xero/QuickBooks option to switch between accounting packages. That option is only for restoring a connection that has dropped, not for moving from one accounting package to another. Switching packages always requires the purge process described below.
If you would like to change your accounting software from QuickBooks to Xero or vice versa please follow the steps below. (Please note you will not be able to retrieve data from the original connection once this is complete.)
1) Please make sure you have sent any settlements that need to be sent to your original accounts package.
2) Export your Product Costs and Product Group Information, as needed.
3) If you have not used the Link My Books defaults in your Accounts and Taxes mapping please take a screenshot of your Accounts and Taxes mappings page.
4) You then need to purge the account connection, so that you can start afresh connecting the new accounts package. Go to Settings > Account Settings > Permanently Delete This Account.
Please Note: purging the account in this way is irreversible, so only do so when you are sure you have completed steps 1 to 3.
5) Once the purge is complete, please follow the steps in the help article How to connect additional sales channels.
