At Link My Books, we aim to provide flexible plans that cater to your specific needs. Our current plans are primarily determined by the number of sales channels you connect. Each plan comes with a default period of historical data access, but we understand there are times you might need to retrieve older information.
This article explains how historical data access works with our current plans and how you can obtain more if required, keeping important sales channel limitations in mind.
Understanding Historical Data in Your Link My Books Plan
The amount of historical data you can initially access with Link My Books depends on the plan associated with your number of connected sales channels:
Plans for a Lower Number of Channels (e.g., "Lite" tier): These plans include 3 months of historical data from the point of connection.
Plans for a Greater Number of Channels: All other plans include a minimum of 12 months of historical data as standard.
Scenario: Needing More Historical Data
You might find yourself in a situation where your plan, based on your number of connected sales channels, doesn't automatically include the full depth of historical data you need.
For example: You may have a plan suitable for a lower number of sales channels (like a "Lite" tier), which comes with 3 months of historical data. However, you might require 12 months (or more) of data for your annual accounting or to get a complete historical picture.
Maximum Historical Data Import Limitations
It's crucial to understand that while Link My Books can provide access to more historical data through bundles, there are ultimate limits imposed by the sales channels themselves. These limitations are due to the maximum period for which their APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) allow us to pull data.
Even with purchased data bundles, Link My Books cannot retrieve data beyond these channel-specific limits.
Here are the maximum historical data periods we can currently import for each sales channel from the date of your request:
12 months - Walmart
18 months - eBay
24 months - Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, TikTok Shop, WooCommerce, Square
We strongly recommend checking with our support team for guaranteed data import periods for your specific sales channels before purchasing a data bundle. Our team can confirm the exact maximum look-back period available for each of your connected channels.
Solution: Purchasing Additional Historical Data Bundles
If your current plan's default historical data allowance isn't sufficient, and your required data falls within the maximum limits mentioned above, you can easily expand it by purchasing an additional data bundle. This allows you to access older settlements without needing to change your core plan based on your channel count.
We offer the following historical data bundles:
Access up to 12 months of historical data: £49 +VAT
Access up to 24 months of historical data: £99 +VAT (subject to your sales channel's specific API limitations as listed above)
Purchasing one of these bundles will upgrade your account's historical data access to the specified level (e.g., 12 months total or 24 months total, up to the maximum supported by your sales channel).
How to Purchase a Data Bundle
To purchase an additional historical data bundle, please contact our support team.
Please note: This option is available only to users with an active Link My Books subscription plan. Additional data bundles cannot be purchased for trial accounts; a subscription will be needed first.
As recommended, it's a good idea to confirm the maximum data import period for your specific channels with our team first.
